Introduction

When the board becomes more difficult, remembering all the options can be hard. That's when Pencil Marks come to the rescue:

They allow you to enter several small digits "for trial" into one cell
Thanks to them, you can see what alternatives you have without the risk of making a mistake

These are your notes - the basis for solving any advanced Sudoku.

How and when to take notes?

Look at the highlighted cell. Instead of guessing the full digit, the game now activates the note mode. Good practice says to:

Enter notes only when there are 2 or maximum 3 options in a given area
Note down digits that do not conflict with the current row, column or block

Notice how the small digits are arranged in the corners of the field, without blocking the view of the entire board.
